Dear Lord,
As we come into this season, we pray that You would use us as Your ambassadors to the Kingdom. Help us share the meaning of Christmas with those around us. Christmas can be a challenging time of the year for many, so many feel the ache of being alone. Please use us this Christmas to be inviting and kind to those around us and give us tender understanding to be sensitive to those that often are overlooked. Please use us as Your hands and feet here on earth to share Your love and truth. It is in our hearts to share Your heart with others. In Jesus Name,
Amen

An Update from Italy
As many of you already know we had some visitors from Italy. Our very own Federico and Roberto from the “home office”. It was wonderful to visit and learn about varied possibilities, real challenges and new opportunities.

Thanksgiving Dinner
This year at HTMC there was quite a Thanksgiving spread. Hal Loomis and many helpers really did a great job. The tables were set and the decorations were up. Moist turkey, tasty stuffing, mouth-watering gravy, veggies, rolls, desserts and more and more. Everybody had as much as they could eat. A huge thanks goes out to all the folks that gave of their time and treasure to give to others.
Update on Current Staff
Federico Reato, our Center Director, made a quick visit in between Covid restrictions affecting travel in England and Italy.
Sister Mary Elizabeth continues to be the glue that hold the seams from bursting. Her endless energy is inspiring.
We welcome Dr. Robbie Martin as our new Office Manager and Bookkeeper. She brings with her a lifetime of experience.
Congratulations to Terri Cochrane as she expands her role to include being our new chef.
Russ Cherry, our all-a-round maintenance miracle, has been busy doing those repairs that must be done and single-handedly tackling the huge task of landscaping. Directly because of his efforts the grounds are looking amazing.
Linda Eichler has been a welcome sight in the kitchen as she has taken on the task of washing and clean all the pots and pans. You might also see her in food prep as she helps with larger groups.
Serena Miller has joined the team maintaining the highest standards in housekeeping and Covid compliance.
Retreat Center
As Guest Coordinator of the Retreat Center, Sister Mary Elizabeth has been very busy. Now that covid seems to have abated, or at least the restrictions have been relaxed, each week is met with new and old faces. Even with the current protections still in place, there have been increasing numbers of individuals and groups searching for the peace and tranquility that HTMC has always offered.
Additionally, with the donations and income received, work was done to deep clean all the residential properties and community spaces. Long needed repairs where made across the campus and efforts continue today to sort and organize as required.
All in all, the Retreat Center is posed for steady growth and many more visitors. All the facilities required for a quick weekend visit or a more in depth journey are available. Food preparation, comfortable beds, a chapel, four ponds and miles of trails all await the tired soul wishing to refresh.
Campaign Development
Campaign development… a facing name for asking for money. It has always been true that it is solely through the grace of God and the benefactors that we here at HTMC are able to provide our visitors the opportunity for Christ’s healing and a temporary escape from the rushed and often unkind world. Our requests for your support in the past have always been answered. Whether it was your sharing of treasure or your gift of time – we have been very blessed.
So, as the year ends, please take a moment and donate what you can, pray for us and pray for those we serve.
Volunteers & Friends

Dick & Dee Weese, Mary Ann Sharp, Bill Lindley, Sue & Scott Stave
Residents

Our long time volunteer, resident, advisor and friend, Bill Lindley has moved to a new home in a senior living facility in Tucson to begin a new chapter of his life. For over years this loving and faithful couple have been a rock in our community.
After seeing an advertisement for HTMC’s fall festival, Bill met Fr. Louis and was invited to become more involved. Bill first came to us as an Oblate in 1997. As an Oblate he helped to build the Oblate program and continued as their facilitator. This included attending a workshop held at Norte Dame. As a leader within the Oblates, he attended as a representative for HTMC 2 world conferences for the Oblate Congress in Rome. He also lead a group of 34 visitors to tour Rome and Vatican City.
Bill’s involvement didn’t end with the Oblate program. After retiring from State government, Bill moved to HTMC as a full time resident starting in 2000. His influence was felt as the guestmaster for 15 years and working in the Chapel garden for 3 years. He also was our backup chef when the primary chef was absent.
Today he is enjoying having his meals and housekeeping taken care of by the facility staff. He is walking to meals and other activities and is feeling much better. He says that he continues to say the Office at the same time of the day as before. He tells us he will still stay involved and visit from time to time for events and as a change of pace.
Monte Cassino RV Park
The RVs roll in and the RVs roll out. It seems that our little RV park is a well keep secret. Most people say they found HTMC years ago and have been returning ever since. With electric, water, sewer and free WiFi it is very attractive to those escaping the winter months back home. All are welcome and all are appreciated. Even though we charge a modest amount, all income is put back into upkeep and improvements.
What is there not to like. With abundant wildlife, calm ponds and miles of trails with benches to rest and consider one’s life.
Upcoming Projects
The annual pecan harvest is here and many hands make the work go quick. Hint Hint
The project to update the conservatory has been started and is well underway. Soon another peaceful and prayerful space will be open to meditate.
The meditation pond has been drained and is awaiting a good cleaning out.
Slowly working on sections of the property to remove dead brush and downed trees to lessen the potential for wildfire damage.
And other exciting adventures into which one can only imagine.
